Curbing Snack Cravings with Balance Bar & Giveaway

by Pam on December 6, 2012

Holidays are hectic. In addition to our normal activities we have additional shopping, baking and chores along with extra events we must attend. While I love the holiday festivities and atmosphere, it can cause havoc with my bank account and my diet. When I am feeling rushed I am tempted to stop and pick up fast food instead of turning to a healthy meal option.  Balance Bar knew the problems I faced and came up with a solution, the 20th Anniversary Balance Bar holiday special.  This is a box of twenty of Balance Bar’s most popular flavors and a tote bag that can be used for all those must have items to store in the car. Now I can keep a snack bar in my car and my purse for whenever hunger strikes.

When our box arrived we opened it immediately to see if we had received some of our favorite flavors.  Balance Bar has a line of seven different bars, Original, Gold, BARE, Café, nimble, CarbWell and mini.  I enjoy all of the different types but am partial to the BARE bars that remind me of granola, only these bars include 15 grams of protein, 19 vitamins and minerals, vitamins A, C, and E and are not as sweet as a traditional granola bar.   I might have happened to consume the Sweet and Salty Peanut bar that kept tempting me.   These bars contain the 30/30/40 combo of fats, protein and carbs to keep me feeling full longer than fast food. I also consume a lot less calories than fast food, making it a win-win situation.

The box is filled with varieties that will make anyone who loves chocolate and/or peanut butter feel like they are in paradise. With choices like S’mores,  Triple Chocolate Chaos, Chocolate Peanut butter and chocolate craze, honey peanut butter and more , I am ready to forgo my fast food fix.  Although most of the bars are chocolate or peanut butter based, the box does include a lemon meringue crunch bar, a cinnamon bun bar and a blueberry acai bar.  I’m packing these in my husband’s lunch to have for an afternoon snack.
