Remote Controlled toys get some serious usage at our house. We have remote controlled cars, motorcycles and other vehicles but we didn’t have a remote controlled helicopter. The kids had wanted one badly, especially when they saw the commercials for Air Hogs. When my son tried flying the helicopter his friend owned, it was all over. Air Hogs was added to our Christmas wish list.
Air Hogs has the neatest collection of remote controlled ground vehicles, helicopters, planes and rockets I have seen in a while. We received the all new Battle Tracker and I can’t wait to see the looks on their faces when they open the box. The kids are in for some serious fun since they can play in three different modes. There’s auto mode that allows for single person play. By taking control of the helicopter, he can try to launch discs at the Automated Robotic Turret or ART. This sounds simple until you realize that the A.R.T. is tracking every move and shooting missiles back at the helicopter. Who knew toys had became so advanced?
The two player mode, allowing friends or relatives to share in the fun, is easily accomplished by switching the A.R.T. to manual mode. One person controls the A.R.T while the other controls the helicopter, meaning the kids are facing off against each other. I plan to prepare for some strong rivalry with this one.
The Battle Tracker pieces can also be used independently to battle other Air Hog products. Playing with friends will take on a whole new meaning.
One thing I especially like about Air Hogs is their sturdiness. I’ve seen two teenagers and two tweens playing with them and know they are designed to last. That’s important to me because our last bargain bin remote controlled copter was flimsy and broke the first time it ran into a wall.
