Tossing and turning, wishing I could fall asleep. Thinking about all the things I need to do the next day and how tired I will feel. Of course, slogging through the next day in a sleep deprived stupor isn’t much fun either. During the holidays, with all the additional activities and stress, losing sleep is even worse. I had read good things about the Hydraluxe Cooling Gel Pillow from Comfort Revolution. It has been recommended by Dr. Oz as one of the top twelve healthiest gifts for 2012. I was intrigued and ready to give it a try.

What’ different about this memory foam pillow? It’s designed to be the best pillow for side sleepers, like me. Filled with gel layers that cradle the head and neck, allowing the body to relax, the gel layers stay cool, making it easier to drift out into slumber. I know I’ve spent nights when I have turned my pillow over and over trying to find a cool spot! (This would be good for anyone who has experienced a hot flash, just saying.)
When the pillow arrived I spent some time examining it to see what made it special. I liked the mesh covering that provided ventilation, keeping the pillow fresh. As a sufferer of year round allergies, I was glad to find it was hypoallergenic. There’s nothing I hate worse than waking with a stuffy nose because I’ve had to use a pillow that aggravated my allergies. The mess cover is machine washable too, another plus around my house. I am all about convenience! The weight of the pillow was more than I was accustomed too so I was afraid I would be uncomfortable using the pillow, in which case I planned to pass it on to Bryan and let him try it. I found it did support my neck and keep me cooler. Since I do suffer from chronic insomnia, I still have quite a few sleepless nights but at least I am comfortable while I am lying awake!

This sounds really good. I currently use a pillow that has teeny beads in it, but it feels great around my neck…even when driving. Without it I tend to have more frequent headaches.
