Cleaner Kitchens with Granite Gold Cleaner (up for grabs)

by Pam on September 24, 2012

Do you have kitchen envy? I would visit friends and marvel at their granite or marble countertops. While planning the renovation of my kitchen, I decided I would settle for nothing less than a granite sink. I chose my favorite model. It was purchased and installed. I was so proud! It looked beautiful and was designed to be durable enough to last the rest of my lifetime. All my friends complimented me on my choice. My pride lasted for about a week, until my first foray into deep cleaning. I’d been wiping my sink down several times a day. This time I used kitchen cleaner. Big mistake! My granite was left with white streaks. I didn’t realize granite required a special type of cleaner because regular cleaners can breakdown the protective seal and damage the natural stone surface. I was unsure what to use on my sink so I stuck with soap and water. It didn’t remove the streaks and my sink didn’t look that great but I thought it was probably a safe bet.

Annoying White Streak

When I was offered a chance to try a trio of Granite Gold products, I said yes immediately. Any chance of getting rid of those annoying white streaks was worth a shot. I received the Daily Cleaner, the Specialty Cleaner and the Polish. Designed to clean granite, marble, travertine, limestone and tile, I went on a cleaning spree. My antique table with the marble top I was always afraid to touch was first on my list. I followed up by cleaning the shower tiles in one of my bathrooms. The cleaning process was simple. I sprayed on the cleaner, wiped it dry with a lint free cloth and admired my results. I followed up by using the polish, which I also sprayed on and wiped dry with a lint free cloth. To be honest, neither the table or that shower is used often so the tiles and marble looked pretty much the same after cleaning. There were a couple of dirt spots on the marble that were removed by the cleaner. I also noticed the tile and marble had a nice gleam after polishing.

The real difference was in my granite sink. After using the cleaner and polish, I noticed it removed all the white streaks except one. My sink hadn’t been this clean since when it was brand new! Sadly, it doesn’t remove oil stains but after reading their stone care page, I’ve found the answer. Granite Gold products are nontoxic and safe to use on all food preparation surfaces. You can bet I will be using this daily. I’m no longer ashamed for my friends to come over and see my sink.
