Glow Gifts Baskets Make Gift Giving Easy Give It Away

by Pam on November 14, 2011

The contest is closed. The winner is

Stressed. That’s how I feel when I am trying to buy a gift for my inlaws or my father. They have everything they need and don’t want more “junk cluttering up their house.” Or my former boss, who met all our attempts to purchase a present for him with, “I don’t need that but thanks.” This year, I discovered a solution to this problem from Glow Gift Baskets, who feature gourmet gift baskets for every occasion. The brainchild of Courtney Kennedy and Kris Jones, they wanted to design convenient, affordable, thoughtful gifts.

I was sent a specially prepared gift basket just for me. It arrived in a green cardboard basket which I plan to reuse for storage. I think it will look stylish on my desk in my “home office.” Wrapped with a brown ribbon, it included a gift card with my initial monogrammed on it. Wouldn’t that make anyone feel special to see a personalized gift?

Nestled inside my basket were 8 notecards and envelopes, the fun, family CD Dragonfly by Johnny Bregar, and a cute photo frame suitable for holding a 3″ by 5″ photo. Each item had a cute brown ribbon attached to add to the feel of opening multiple presents. The items were carefully packaged in a bed of shredded brown paper to ensure they arrived safely.

My favorite option was the “Build Your Own” giftbasket. The $10 base price includes the gift wrap, monogrammed card and your message, hand-written. For there, I have the option of adding one to three items into the basket. Immediately, I found something that would appeal to my father in law, the frequent traveler. By adding a “on the go coffee cup,” a package of Sumptown coffee, and a notebook to get track of his many appointments. Or for my mother in law, a frame with the kids picture, a subscription to Good Housekeeping, and a candle.

For those who want to send a basket but don’t have time to build one, there’s premade baskets for men, women, babies, couples, families and clients. The You Build Entertainer basket filled with all sorts of tempting treats would be a great housewarming gift. I’d fill mine with basil pesto, lemon curd, scone mix, tomato herb bruschetta, and sun dried olive and tomato relish. (That’s just a little hint in case my kids are reading.)

Shipping is a flat $7 fee no matter how many items are added to the basket. The best part? I can schedule the date it arrives. Imagine doing all my shopping one day of the year and having them arrive on birthdays or anniversaries, saving me time, money, and stress. Now that’s a concept I can get into!

Win It!
